Listed below are resources the CHE has compiled for teachers from our own website and the Maryland State Archives to highlight certain topics/time periods in history.  The topics have been grouped by grade level, but feel free to explore all of the resources below.  They can be adapted to meet the needs of students at various levels.  Be sure to check back periodically, the featured topics will change!  To check out old topics, be sure to visit our archive

New Online Resources from
Teaching American History in Maryland

Check out the many new online Lesson Plans and Resources for Teachers developed for the K-12 classroom by the Teaching American History in Maryland Program.

These user-friendly resources include classroom-ready Lesson Plans on a wide range of topics in the K-12 U.S. history curriculum. The lesson plans come complete with background information, activities, primary sources, worksheets, and links to the National History Standards.  Resources for Teachers is an interactive timeline of lesson plans, primary sources, and other useful Web sites for the history classroom. Content will be added often, so check back frequently!
