2nd Annual Probability and Statistics Day at UMBC

After a tremendous and overwhelming success of Probability & Statistics
Day held at UMBC in 2007, we plan to hold the 2nd Annual Prob/Stat Day at
UMBC
on Saturday, April 26, 2008. The main goal of this special one day
conference is to promote scientific awareness in general and discuss
contemporary probabilistic and statistical issues in particular. The
conference is open to all local university faculty/grad students as well
as to statisticians employed in the government agencies and private
industries. Women and minority statisticians are especially encouraged to
attend. The conference will be held in Lecture Halls 7 & 8 and Rooms 237 & 239
of the ITE building at UMBC.

Additionally, there will be regular invited and contributed talks, and
oral and poster presentations by graduate students from local universities.
Certificates and cash awards will be offered to a few best oral and poster
student presenters.
