EOL 3: Music, Myth, and History (Bohlman)
Philip V. Bohlman
teaches ethnomusicology at the University of Chicago,
where he also serves on the Jewish Studies faculty. His
research often investigates the relations between music
and religion, with current projects including studies of
music and pilgrimage, and the histories of Jewish music
in Central and Eastern Europe. His most recent book is Central European Folk Music: An Annotated Bibliography of the Sources in German (Garland 1996). He is currently completing work on "Jüdische Volksmusik": Eine Geistesgeschichte Mitteleuropas (Peter Lang). Bohlman is Coeditor of "Chicago Studies in Ethnomusicology" (University of Chicago Press) and General Editor of "Recent Researches in the Oral Traditions of Music" (A-R Editions). |
