Karen McGale is currently pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Horn Performance at Arizona State University in Phoenix. She completed several graduate courses at the University of Arizona in Tucson, including a seminar in ethnomusicology. She earned her Master of Music degree at McGill University in Montreal, Canada and her Bachelor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Western Ontario in London, Canada. Ms. McGale is a Canadian of Irish and French Canadian descent who grew up being surrounded by the music and dance of these cultures. Her interest in these traditions led her to take courses in Canadian history and music history throughout her university education. Ms. McGale is a strong supporter of Canadian music and always attempts to include Canadian content on her solo recitals.
