Christopher Yohmei Blasdel, active in Japan, studied with Yamaguchi since 1972. He is author of the book, The Shakuhachi, a Manual for Learning (Ongaku no Tomo-sha, 1988) and was one of the organizers of the 1998 Boulder World Shakuhachi Festival. He has his own website.
