Mr. Schulz, Director, is responsible for managing the techcenter@UMBC complex in addition to leasing available space. He is the initial point of contact for incubator and emerging technology companies interested in joining the techcenter@UMBC Incubator Program and/or those interested in initiating potential collaboration opportunities with the university faculty and staff. He, along with the director of Business Advisory Services, organizes business reviews of all companies entering the Incubator Program by the center's Business Advisory Board.

Prior to joining techcenter@UMBC, Schulz served 25 years with the Maryland State Police Department in positions including regional commander of the Drug and Criminal Investigation Bureaus and supervisor of White Collar Criminal Investigations within the Office of the Attorney General. He also served on federal, state and local Task Force Advisory Boards responsible for drug enforcement and drug prevention initiatives. During his career, Schulz was recognized by the Maryland State Police Department, federal and local agencies and the community for outstanding service.

Schulz earned a Bachelor of Science (magna cum laude) from the University of Baltimore and is certified as a Real Estate Property Administrator by the Building Owners Management Institute (BOMI).
