TechGuard Security, LLC Joins DISA's Mentor-Protege Program with Nunn-Perry Award Winner, Booz Allen Hamilton

Baltimore and St. Louis-- September 15, 2005 -- TechGuard Security, LLC (TechGuard) announces that they have been accepted into the Department of Defense (DoD) Mentor-Protégé (M-P) Program through the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) small disadvantaged business office, as a protégé to Booz Allen Hamilton. TechGuard looks forward to working through the M-P Program to transfer their Artificial Intelligence firewall technology to DoD and Federal customers.

The Department of Defense Mentor-Protégé Program seeks to encourage DoD prime contractors to develop the technical and business capabilities of small, disadvantaged or women-owned small businesses like TechGuard, which enhances the capability and reliability of small business suppliers to the DoD and other federal agencies. The program provides incentives for mentors to establish and implement a developmental plan that enables the protégé to compete more successfully for government prime contracts and subcontract awards.  Especially encouraged by DISA is the completion of CMMI, ISO or other quality certifications through the mentor-protégé arrangement--a must-have for successful contracting with the DoD.

TechGuard's mission focus on US Cyberdefense and adaptive technology research and development has led to rapid growth in the defense contracting space, landing a sub-contract with Johns Hopkins APL, for the lead development position on the Joint Unmanned Combat Aerial System communications portal project.  Research funding from the National Institute of Standards and Technology for TechGuard's "Securing the Critical Infrastructure; A Heuristic Firewall Project," has lead to the first Great Walls of Fire(r), GWOF 1210 Adaptive Firewall beta product release.

"We look forward to working with Booz Allen, whose reputation for excellence in IT and management expertise, will help position the TechGuard team for success delivering secure IT solutions for network-centric operations," said Kevin Machon , TechGuard's Vice President of Operations.  "Participating in the distinguished DISA Mentor-protégé program with our mentor Booz Allen is not only an honor, but also represents the attainment of a significant TechGuard milestone which is projected to fuel impressive growth in our years in the DISA program."
