Ruth Davis
Ruth Davis is Senior Lecturer in Ethnomusicology in the Faculty of Music, University of Cambridge, and Fellow and Director of Studies in Music at Corpus Christi College Cambridge. She has published extensively and given numerous broadcasts on Middle Eastern music, particularly on her original field research in mainland Tunisia and on the Tunisian island of Djerba. She is currently completing an edition with digitally remastered sound recordings entitled "A Musical Ethnography of Palestine, 1936-1937" for A-R Editions, based on Robert Lachmann's pioneering recordings and unpublished writings, in collaboration with the National Sound Archive of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. |
