About the Conference

The 2026 UMBC–Stanford Workshop on Clinical Trials and Regulatory Science brings together leading experts from academia, government, and industry to explore emerging challenges and opportunities in modern clinical research and regulatory science.

Hosted by the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) in collaboration with Stanford University, this biannual workshop serves as a premier forum for scientific exchange, interdisciplinary collaboration, and professional development. The 2026 theme, "From Statistical Rigor to AI-enabled Decision-making," reflects the growing impact of artificial intelligence, machine learning, real-world evidence, and advanced analytics on the design, conduct, and evaluation of clinical trials.

Through keynote presentations, expert panel discussions, educational short courses, poster sessions, and networking events, participants will engage with thought leaders from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), academia, biopharmaceutical companies, and research institutions.
